PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control method by which the adjustment frequency can be varied according to use environment, and to provide a favorable brightness adjustment absorbing dispersion in the products and intermittent variation in external light. SOLUTION: In the dimmer control method of this invention, the display control device is configured so as to deal with variation in external light in each case such as in a room and on-vehicle where the use environment is largely different from each other, by making the external light detection period variable, varying the brightness adjusting speed, and making the brightness adjusting speed variable. Moreover, the control is carried out by setting a case beforehand, converting the external light into a voltage for each typical environmental condition, reading the converted voltage by a microcomputer as an input voltage, controlling the brightness, and also storing a relation between this read period data and a reference voltage for comparison in a storage device such as non- volatile memory, and fetching the data from the storage device. |
