<p>The invention relates to a method for the production of p,p-bisphenol-A (BPA) by reaction of acetone and phenol in the presence of a cross-linked, sulphonated polystyrol resin (ion exchange resin), whereby, post reactor-unit, BPA is separated off by: a) a primary crystallisation in the form of a continuously, or discontinuously operated layer crystallisation and b) optionally, a further purification, by means of a distillation or crystallisation and c) the recycle stream, enriched in by-products and depleted of BPA, is returned either pre- or post-reactor with an interposed rearrangement reaction and a distillation to remove water, acetone and optionally phenol.</p> |
