PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cost of an inverter circuit by using a DC/DC converter. SOLUTION: In a control device for an air conditioner comprising an inverter circuit to supply a power to a motor for a compressor 7 used in an air conditioner, and a microcomputer 9 to control operation of the inverter circuit, the inverter circuit is provided with an IPM 6. An AC commercial source is rectified to a DC by a diode stack 2 and the DC source is supplied to the IPM 6 and a fuse 8 is situated between the diode stack 2 and the IPM 6. A DV/DC converter 10 is connected between the diode stack 2 and the fuse 8, a power source for the microcomputer 9 is supplied to the DC/DC converter 10. A current sensor 11 is provided to detect the current on the input side of the IPM 6, and when the value of the current sensor 11 is decreased to a value lower than a given value during a specified time in succession, operation of the inverter circuit is stopped. |
