PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a magnetic head of a disk drive device and/or a disk surface from being flawed without landing a head, when a disk-like recording medium is not rotating by making the magnetic head not move imprudently. SOLUTION: This disk drive device 1 has magnetic heads, which record or reproduce signals to or from a flexible magnetic disk 7 (disk-like recording medium), head arms 106 and 106 which support the magnetic heads atop, and a linear motor part (carrying means) 119 which supports the head arms and carries the magnetic heads from outside of the outer peripheral part of the flexible magnetic disk to nearby the center part. When the magnetic heads are positioned outside the outer peripheral part of the flexible magnetic disk, cantilever arm parts 108c and 108c formed on the head arms, moved by a linear motor part are positioned on oblique surfaces 126b and 126b for temporary fixation of the lifter 125, thus obtaining a means 127 for temporary fixation in the unloaded state of the magnetic heads.
