PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricant and to provide lubricating method, capable of exhibiting performance equivalent to that obtained when boric acid powder is used and forming more melted materials for covering graphite powder or water-soluble binder in high temperature area by using a small amount of the lubricant as compared with lubricant obtained by using boric acid powder and thereby capable of protecting the graphite powder or the water-soluble binder and maintaining lubricating property, sealing performance and protection of sliding surface over a long period and lowering production cost by reduction of material cost. SOLUTION: The characteristic of this lubricant is to have a lubricant A comprising <=50 wt.% graphite powder, an organic and/or inorganic water-soluble binder and water and boron carbide powder in an amount of <=20 wt.% based on the lubricant A and to form dried film after applying it to a sliding part. |
