PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for processing information in which hand feed printing can be performed easily and surely. SOLUTION: A decision is made whether an operator has designated hand feed printing or not (S5) and if it has been designated, a display for urging to set a sheet at the hand feed sheet inlet of a printer is presented (S6). A decision is then made whether a sheet has been set at the hand feed sheet inlet of the printer or not (S9), and if a sheet has been set at the hand feed sheet inlet of the printer, the display is ended and print data is transferred to a printer engine before starting image recording on a sheet set at the hand feed sheet inlet.
