PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture processor capable off reducing the discontinuity of gradation by simple arithmetic processing when applying color adjusting processing to a color input picture. SOLUTION: A representative gradation D is set within a gradation range (A<Y<B) in color adjusting area to set the boundary gradation adjusting quantities W1 and W2 of the upper limit gradation A and the lower limit gradation B of the color adjusting area to be V/2, e.g. in accordance with a gradation adjusting quantity V to each pixel in the cooler adjusting area. Then, a neighboring area (E<Y<A, B<Y<F) for reducing the discontinuity of the gradations are set in the gradation area in the neighborhood of the color adjusting area by a straight line connecting the boundary gradation adjusting quantity of these gradation D and gradations A and B by a linear function, and a gradation conversion quantity with respect to a pixel belonging to this neighboring area is set. |
