PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attach the discharge electrode unit of an insulated wire open circuit preventive device to the outside of an insulator unit. SOLUTION: The charging side of a current limiter 12 is connected to an insulated wire 2 side and a discharge electrode unit 11 is provided on the non- charging side of the current limiter 12. The discharge electrode unit 11 is attached to the outer circumference of an insulator unit 3 supporting an insulated wire 2 so as to form a gap G between the discharge electrode unit 11 and an arm metal fitting 8 or a base metal fitting 5 on an earth side. A connection member 26 formed into a spiral is provided on the tip of the discharge electrode unit 11 which is wound around the outer circumferential surface of the insulator unit 3 to have the connection member 26 twisted around the discharge electrode unit 11.
