PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize required mounting dimensions and improve the functional performance of the steeling angle by reducing more required hardware. SOLUTION: The sensor has a first sensor unit 2 composed of an output medium for carrying a first code part 6 coupled with a handle rotary motion part, and a detector 8 disposed at a stator for scanning the code part 6 of the output medium in one segment of all handle rotation ranges, and a second sensor unit 3 composed of a rotor 22 coupled like a gear with the output medium of the first sensor unit 2, a code part 11 movable by the rotor, and a detector 8 disposed at the stator for scanning the code part in all the handle rotation ranges. A differential planetary gear unit 16 is used like a gear for connecting the rotor 22 of the second sensor unit 3 with the output medium of the first sensor unit 2.
