PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silver halide color photographic sensitive material having improved photographic performances such as graininess, sharpness and color reproducibility and nearly independent of a change in development conditions. SOLUTION: The silver halide color photographic sensitive material has blue-, green- and red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers on the substrate. The average silver chloride content of at least one of the silver halide emulsions of one or more layers is >=50 mol% and one or more silver halide emulsion layers contain one or more photographically useful group releasing compounds of the formula COUP-A-E-B (where COUP is a coupler residue capable of coupling with the oxidized body of a developing agent; E is an electrophilic part; A is a divalent combining group capable of releasing B while forming a 4- to 8-membered ring by the intramolecular nucleophilic substitution reaction of a nitrogen atom derived from the developing agent and bonding directly to the coupling position in the coupling product of COUP and the oxidized body of the developing agent with the electrophilic part E or a single bond, and B is a photographically useful group or its precursor).
