<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic dictionary which speeds up example sentence retrieval and enables simultaneous consolidation retrieval using plural dictionaries. SOLUTION: The electronic dictionary equipped with dictionary data 30 having equivalents to index words, example sentences and phrases relating to the index words, and sub-information composed of those equivalents, extracts data of the example sentences of the sub-information from a dictionary data main body 31 and holds them as sub-dictionary data 32 and 33 and is provided with a pointer which relates respective pieces of sub-information at the position of the dictionary data main body 31 where the sub-information is embedded.</p> |
