PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high sensitivity image sensor whose output levels in red, green and blue are uniform. SOLUTION: The image sensor is provided with light sources 5 that emit red, green and blue light to the face of an original 3, and optical system 6 that collects reflected light from the face of the original, sensors 7 that are provided to an image forming section of the optical system to read an image of the original, and a read device that scans each sensor at a prescribed period synchronously with the lighting of each of the light sources 5. The light sources have wavelengths of around 480 nm, 545 nm and 640 nm, respectively, and the imager sensor divides the information of the image by each wavelength and reads the image as electric signals arranged in time series.
