The vibration damping system is designed, so that along the deflection track (28) assigned to the at least one deflection mass (24) or-and along the outer circumferential surface of the at least one deflection mass, at least one slot type depression (52) is formed. An elastic deformable material (54) is arranged extending along this depression (52). Which in a non loaded condition projects over the surface of the deflection track or the outer circumferential surface of the at least one deflection mass, and the cross sectional surface of the at least one slot type depression is larger or the same as a cross sectional surface of the elastic material(54) arranged in this.
