The grandstand has extending intermediate stepped elements (8,9) mounted telescopically displaceable on the adjoining step element by a telescopic bearing. Floor-supported fixed step elements (3,4) are mounted in alternation with the extending intermediate step elements. The step elements each rest on the adjoining lower step element through their leading edge and a front support bearing (33).
