PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of making molds for replicas with which minute and irregular roughness at glance appearing on the surface of the materials to be reproduced can be realized on a surface, which has macroscopically different curving conditions, and also provide method of making replicas using the mold. SOLUTION: Minute roughness 32 having a figuration complementary to minute roughness 31 of the material 10 to be reproduced which has a surface 21 provided with minute roughness 31 along the first basic curved surface, is formed on the contacted surface 41 of the silicone impression material 40 by bringing the impression material 40 into contact with the surface 21 of the template 10. The impression material 40 is peeled off the surface 21 of the template 10. After a wax 50 is coated like a thin film on the contacted surface 41 of the impression material, minute roughness 33, which has a shape complementary to the minute roughness 32 on the impression material 40 is formed on the surface 51 where the wax 50 is coated. The thin film of wax 50 is peeled off the contacted surface 41 of the impression material 40. Then, the mold for replica is made by deflecting the thin film of wax 50 along the second basic curved surface, which has a different shape from the first curved surface. Finally, the replicas are made with the mold for replicas by a lost-wax process.
