PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified diene polymer which can be well reinforced and in which a filler can be well dispersed regardless of the kind of filler contained, a method for producing the same, and a rubber composition having good fracture characteristics, abrasion resistance, and low heat build-up. SOLUTION: This polymer has an alkoxysilyl group at the molecular end and a mol.wt. distribution of 1.2 or lower.
