METHOD FOR MANAGING VOICE MAIL BOX USING SHORT MESSAGE IN VOICE MAIL SYSTEM AND RECORDING MEDIA THEREFOR

PURPOSE: A method for managing a voice mail box using a short message in a voice mail system and a recording media therefor are provided to define an extended short message to mutually report a status variation of a voice mail box in a voice mail system between a user terminal and a voice mail server and to manage the voice mail box through this extended short message. CONSTITUTION: A user accesses a voice mail server to confirm voice mail stored in the voice mail server(400). The user listens to a message stored in a voice mail box for his user terminal according to the guidance of the voice mail server(410). If the user breaks off the connection with the voice mail server after listening to the message(420), the voice mail server checks whether a status variation of the voice mail box has been generated(430). In case that a status variation of the voice mail box has been generated, the voice mail server configures a short message for status variation notification(440) and transmits it to the user terminal(450). The user terminal receives the short message from the voice mail server(460). The user terminal revises or deletes the new or stored message information of the voice mail box according to the status variation information contained in the received short message(470).
