PURPOSE: Provided is a connector for plate shaped objects with stable operation and suitable for reducing size. CONSTITUTION: The connector includes a contact(13) having contacting portion(15) opposing to a face of cables and a supporting portion(16) opposing to an opposite face of the cables, an insulator(12) holding the contact, and an actuator(14) for pressing the cables to the contacting portion. The actuator is formed integrally with a shaft portion(22) being turnably engaged with a cam(21) and the insulator(12), the cam being disposed between the supporting portion and the cables. The insulator(12) has a guiding groove(23) for guiding the shaft portion to deliver the cam between the supporting portion and the cables, an engaging groove(24) leading to the guiding groove and extending in the moving direction of the cam to the supporting portion. Therefore, the shaft portion can be turnably engaged to the engaging groove.
