PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior approach designing method capable of speedily and easily selecting an exterior approach pattern corresponding to an arrangement space in a plot without any stain. SOLUTION: A minimum depth dimension D and the dimension of the longest horizontal displacement Y necessary for actual construction are determined for every exterior approach pattern, and the dimensions D and Y are compared with an arrangement space to select an optimum pattern. Especially in a horizontal-Z-straight-type exterior approach pattern 19 in which a horizontal entrance gate 2, a Z-type approach 5, and a straightly connecting entrance porch 6 are combined together, its depth dimension D is 1100 mm, and its dimension of horizontal displacement Y is 4300 mm. In a horizontal-Z-horizontal-type exterior approach pattern 20 in which a horizontal entrance gate 2, a Z-type approach 5, and a horizontally connecting entrance porch 7 are combined together, its depth distension D is 1600 mm, and its dimension of horizontal displacement Y is 4,300 mm.
