PURPOSE: A method for controlling ignition time of an engine is provided to reduce error due to a time change by dividing an ignition time of a crank rotation angle into two parts and calculating each ignition time. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling ignition time of the engine includes the steps of dividing a standard rotation angle of a crank shaft rotating by stroke of an engine cylinder into two parts, subtracting the standard rotation angle from an initial measured angle(QR1) in case of 75deg. to 5deg. before a top dead center of the divided rotation angle, dividing into 50deg. and multiplying a time area(TFA1) before the ignition to control the ignition time, subtracting the standard rotation angle from a measured angle(QR2) after 5deg., and dividing into 50deg. and multiplying a time area(TFA2) before the ignition to control the ignition time.
