PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved and surely functioning pressure control valve which controls pressure inside a fuel accumulator in an accumulator type fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine, has a plunger-like valve member guided in a hole in an axially slidable manner against the force of a closing spring, the valve member applying to the closing element in a closing direction and pressurizing the closing element against a valve seat, composing a current-carrying moving element of an electromagnet for assisting the closing force of the closing spring. SOLUTION: The valve member has a plurality of guide divisions dislocated from each other in an axial direction. The valve member is guided in a hole trough the guide divisions. The valve member has a sectional area smaller than that of each of guide divisions, in other area than the guide divisions.
