PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of enhancing the interest of a game by giving variation to the variable display of patterns. SOLUTION: A variable display means having plural variable display parts capable of respectively varying and displaying plural kinds of patterns required for a game gas the larger number of variable display parts (for example, four reels 4a to d) than a prescribed number of variable display parts (for example, three reels 5a to d) to be used for the game and is provided with a visually recognizable area 62 for visually recognizing the prescribed number of variable display parts from among the plural variable display parts and a concealing area 63 for concealing the variable display parts except for the prescribed number of variable display parts. Thus the game is played by using the prescribed number of variable display parts selected by a selecting means and positioned in the area 62.
