1294982 Polyarylether - sulphones BAYER AG 19 June 1970 [25 June 1969] 29948/70 Heading C3R Polyarylether-sulphones containing recurring units of formula and/or where Ar is a diphenylene or naphthylene radical or has the formula where Z is a hydrocarbon radical of 1 to 8 carbon atoms or is -O-, -S-, -SO-, -SO 2 - or -CO-, are prepared by reacting a compound of formula where Hal is chlorine or fluorine and Ar<SP>1</SP> is a diphenylene or diphenylether radical, with a bisphenolate of formula where Me is an alkali metal. In examples, 4,4<SP>1</SP>- bis - (4 - chlorophenylsulphone) diphenylether is reacted with the sodium salts of 2,2-bis-(4- hydroxyphenyl)-propane and 4,41-dihydroxydiphenyl, and 4,41 - bis - (4 - chlorophenylsulphone)-diphenyl is reacted with the sodium salt of 2,2-bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propane. Uses.-Lacquers, films, fibres and moulded articles. |
