PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate transfer system image forming device capable of surely preventing retransfer caused at a primary transfer abutting part where a photoreceptor abuts on an intermediate transfer body. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with electrifying means 24 and 32 for an intermediate transfer body by which the intermediate transfer body 20 is electrified so that its surface potential may have the same polarity as the surface potential at the image non-forming part of the photoreceptor 10 at least before primary transfer and may be higher than that at the image non-forming part. Especially, it is good to electrify the intermediate transfer body 20 to the potential twice or more times as high as that at the image non-forming part of the photoreceptor 10.
