摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module which can prevent the breakage of an optical fiber or a wiring by a convenient structure as much as possible, connect accurately and optically the optical fiber and optical element, realize downsizing at almost the same size as a mounting substrate, keep a long-period realiability, and is excellent in heat radiation and high-speed operation. SOLUTION: This optical module M1 is composed of a first substrate 3 provided with an optical semiconductor element 1 and an optical wave guide body 2 to be connected optically therewith on its lower surface, and a second substrate 5 provided with an outer conductor 4 to energize to the element 1. A conductor pattern for energizing the element 1 is provided on the lower surface of the first substrate 3, and a recessed part 8 which is provided with a conductor pattern to be connected with the outer conductor 4 is formed on the second substrate 5, and then the lower surface side of the first substrate 3 is housed within the recessed part 8 so that the conductor pattern of the first substrate 3 is connected with that of the second substrate 5.
