PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the manual operation of a hoist in a hoistway from the hoistway outside. SOLUTION: A pinion 15 is fixed to the rotary shaft 9 of the hoist 7, a rack 26 separating from/approaching to the pinion 15 and rotating the pinion 15 is provided, a brake device 10 is remote-controlled from an operation part outside the hoistway via a release cable, and the rack 26 is also remote- controlled from the similar operation part via an engagement cable 17 and a manual driving cable 18.
