PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new modified type cDNA encoding a modified type rat Bcl-xL protein having more increased apoptosis inhibitory effect, a recombinant vector holding this modified type cDNA, a transformed cell due to this recombinant vector and a modified type protein produced by this transformed cell. SOLUTION: The modified type cDNA of rat bcl-xL gene is characteristically obtained by carrying out at least one of base substitutions, e.g. a base substitution of transforming 22nd Tyr to Phe in the code domain, a base substitution of transforming 26th Gl to Asn and a base substitution of transforming 165th Arg to Lys, on the rat bcl-xL gene cDNA sequence containing a specific base sequence. The recombinant vector holding this modified type cDNA, the transformed cell obtained by transducing this recombinant vector and the modified type protein Bcl-xL produced by this transformed cell are also afforded. |
