<p>Uranium contng. layers with good adhesive qualities, can be prod. by co-deposition with copper or nickel from their respective plating solns. When co-depositing with nickel, V3O8 as a suspension of 5 g./l. is used in a plating bath of composition 240 g./l. NiSO4; 20 g./l. NiCl2 20 g./l. H3BO3; 0.2 g./l. sodium lauryl sulphate at pH 2 and 20 degrees C. For copper co-deposition uranyl nitrate is dissolved 100 g./l., in a plating bath of compsn. Cu(NO3)2 100 g./l.; 0.3 g./l. sodium lauryl sulphate; 0.2 g./l. disodium salt of napthalene disulphonic acid; 500 ml. each acetone and water, at pH 1 and 20 degrees C. In the copper co-deposition ultrasonic and other means of stirring are used and the current is periodically varied. In both cases uranium is co-deposited as V3O8.</p> |
