OPEN RATIO ADJUSTABLE CUTTER HEADER FOR TUNNEL BORING MACHINE

PURPOSE: A cutter head for a tunnel boring machine is provided to improve discharging and boring capacities by adjusting open ratio according to the type of a stratum. CONSTITUTION: A cutter head consists of an opening holder(10) and an opening adjusting plate(20). A cutter head(130) is installed in the front side of a front body. A roller cutter and a main bit are installed in the front side of the cutter head to crush earthy materials and rocks. Numerous openings(24) are formed in the opening adjusting plate to put crushed earthy materials and rocks into a tunnel boring machine. The opening adjusting plate is installed in the opening holder detachably. The opening holder is extended backward from the inside edge of the existing opened part of the front side of the cutter head. At one end of the opening holder, a screw hole(28) is formed. The opening adjusting plate is formed in the same size as the opened part so that the front side(22) is united with the opening holder. A bent up part(26) is also formed to contact with the opening holder, and a screw hole is formed at one end of the bent up part to correspond to the screw hole of the opening holder.
