PODED CONTRA-ROTATING PROPULSOR

PURPOSE: A poded contra-rotating propulsor is provided to reduce the maximum capacity of motors by employing oppositely rotating propellers to be separately driven by motors, thereby improving manufacturing and propulsive efficiencies. CONSTITUTION: A poded contra-rotating propulsor includes a pod(120) supported by a strut(110) and connected to a hull rotatably, motors(131,132) incorporated in the pod, shafting(140) incorporated in the pod and connected from rotary shafts of the motors to the front end of eyes by a concentric dual shaft, and propellers(151,152) connected to each shaft of the shafting and mounted to the front end of the eyes of the pod in parallel to be separately driven by the motors to rotate contrarily.
