<p>A hose clamp (10) is provided for establishing a reliable, fluid-tight, seal between a hose (12) and a receptacle (14) therefore or to another length of hose. The clamp (10) includes a plurality of clamp segments (32) each including an arcuate interior surface (34) having a span ring slot (60, 60', 60'') therein positioned to align with a corresponding span ring slot in an adjacent clamp segment, a bore (42, 42', 42'') on a first end thereof adapted to align with a corresponding bore (50, 50', 50'') on an end on an adjacent segment, and a span ring (62) having a portion disposed in each span ring slot (60, 60', 60'') with the interior surface of the span ring approximately flush with the interior surfaces (34) of each clamp segment. Each clamp segment (32) further includes. As a clamp (10) tightens around the hose (12), the diameter of the span ring (62) changes so that the top surface (64) of the span ring remains approximately flush with the interior surfaces (34) of the clamp segments (32).</p> |
