The invention relates to a vehicle wheel for the front axle of a goods vehicle, which is preferably applicable to wide base tyres and comprises a nominal rim width greater than 11.75''. The vehicle wheel further comprises a wheel disc (1) and a steeply shouldered rim (11), in which a rim drop centre (14) comprising a drop centre base (15) and drop centre tapers (16, 17) is arranged. The base (15) of the drop centre (14) extends on both sides of the rim centre (F) in an essentially straight line and the outer taper (17) and inner taper (16) are respectively connected to the rim shoulders. The wheel disc (1) is welded to the base (15) of the drop centre (14). The inventive embodiment results in vehicle wheels (10) with a broad drop centre that preferably takes up 65 %-75 % of the width of the rim (11). Production of the inventive wheels requires less material and there are practically no undercuts where mud, stones and similar can collect. |
