PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data file automatic vending system and its method allowing a customer to purchase the data files of music, language, game soft ware, etc., directly by a vending machine. SOLUTION: A data file automatic vending system is provided with a hot computer 1, a plurality of local area servers 3, and a plurality of vending machines 5. These units are connected through communication networks 2 and 4. The computer 1, the servers 3 and the machines 5 respectively have their own database. A data file which is not stored in any of the machines 5 is received by downloading from one of the servers 3 and when it is not stored in the servers either, it is downloaded from the computer 1 through the server 3. When the data file which is not stored in any of the machines 5 is requested to one of the servers 3, the server 3 transmits this data file and the machine 5 generates a message which should be deleted, sells this data file and newly updates the database and managing data of the machines 5. |
