PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a liquid crystal device in which cleaning processes with a fluorine-based cleaning liquid and water can be omitted by using a new cleaning liquid to clean the panel for a liquid crystal device. SOLUTION: When a panel 5 after a liquid crystal is injected is to be cleaned, a cleaning liquid prepared by adding a fatty acid alkanolamide and a N- alkylalkylene diamine fatty acid salt each by <= 5 wt.% to normal paraffin such as normal nonane and normal decane as the main component is used. The cleaning liquid has a cleaning ability for an organic substance such as a liquid crystal 40 as well as an ability to clean off an alkali metal, its chloride or the like produced from first and second transparent substrates 10, 20 consisting of soda glass substrates which constitute the panel 5.
