PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas oven capable of preventing an article to be calcined from being unevenly burned by making radiation heat uniform and hence suppressing the amount of carbon monoxide produced from a gas oven to such as level as to be practically free from trouble. SOLUTION: An incineration chamber 6 is provided in a gas oven A. An upper fire burner 7 is disposed on an upper side of the incineration chamber 6 while a lower fire burner 8 is disposed on a lower side of the incineration chamber 6. Upper exhaust holes 41 are provided, flushed with each other at four positions at an equal interval on an upper portion of a back surface plate 40 on the back surface side of the calcination chamber 6. The upper exhaust holes 41 are provided at a position slightly higher than a burner port 70 of the upper fire burner 7. The ratio of a height of the upper fire burner 7 from the burner port 70 to the upper exhaust hole 41 and a height of the upper fire burner 7 from the flame hole to a ceiling plate is set 2:11.
