PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device which is capable of supplying voltages corresponding to an analog picture signal to pixels with high accuracy without being affected by switching noise and leakage and also which is capable of performing a high-speed sampling of the analog picture signal. SOLUTION: After the analog picture signal Sig A is held in a capacitance C-j, the signal is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 16-j in a time shorter than a horizontal scanning period and is held in a latch 17-j. Then, when an analog picture signal is applied to a data line 12-j, the transfer of a digital signal from the latch 17-j to a latch 18-j and a D/A conversion by a D/A converter 19-j are performed.
