PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush suspension device for a floor surface washing device which is so devised as to exhibit an excellent washing effect by maintaining a contact pressure with a floor surface in spite of a washing brush which cannot exhibit a suction effect to the floor surface, to exhibit an excellent follow-up characteristic to the washing brush in spite of some ruggedness of the floor surface and to exhibit the prescribed brushing effect without floating the washing brush from the floor surface or vibrating the washing brush. SOLUTION: A motor stand 10 mounted with the washing brush 8 and a brush motor 8M is freely vertically movably mounted at a machine body frame 1R of the floor surface washing machine by using turning arms 11 and 11'. A joint member 22 which is moved downward by the activation of a cylinder 20, a compression spring 25 which is pressed and compressed by this joint member 22 and a spring rest guide body 24 which transmits the compression force of the compression spring 25 to the motor stand 10 and brings the washing brush 8 into pressurized contact with the floor surface F side are mounted at the lift frame 17 which is mounted at the bottom end to the motor stand 10 side.
