PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a temperature sensing colored polymer composition having a high tinting strength and high dispersion stability (solution stability) and capable of forming polymer particles having a sharp particle diameter distribution by heating, to produce the temperature sensing colored polymer, to provide a method for producing the temperature sensing colored polymer and to obtain an ink for ink jet recording and especially the temperature sensing colored polymer composition capable of providing long-term preservation stability and preventing an image from feathering when used for the ink jet recording. SOLUTION: This temperature sensing colored polymer composition comprises the temperature sensing colored polymer prepared by reacting a water-soluble polymer in which the polymer comprises an N-alkyl-substituted (meth)acrylamide monomer having a lower critical solution temperature(LCST) and a cationic monomer as at least copolymerization components with an anionic dye in an aqueous medium. The temperature sensing colored polymer is produced and the method for producing the temperature sensing colored polymer is obtained. An ink for the ink jet recording comprises the temperature sensing colored polymer.
