PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deformation and the evaporation of molybdenum at high temperature in a tungsten-molybdenum alloy used for the material for high temperature structures such as a heater and a lump. SOLUTION: By obtaining a tungsten-molybdenum alloy formed by adding at least one or more kinds of the oxides of the group 1a, 3a, 3b, 4a and 4b elements to tungsten powder and molybdenum powder, subjecting the same to press forming and thereafter executing sintering and drawing, particularly, the one containing K as the group 1a element, Y or La as the group 3a element, Al as the group 3b element, Ce or Th as the group 4a element and Si as the group 4b element, the one in which the concentration of K is 10 to 200 ppm, the one in which the total content of the oxides is 0.2 to 3.0 wt.% or, moreover, the one in which a layer low in the concentration of molybdenum has been formed in the vicinity of the surface of the alloy, its deformation and the evaporation of molybdenum at high temperature which have been the defects of the conventional tungsten-molybdenum alloy can be suppressed.
