PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light emitting device capable of emitting a light in a simple structure, even without any external power source. SOLUTION: The semiconductor light emitting device 1 has a light emitting diode(LED) 20 composed of an n-type semiconductor 21, a p-type semiconductor 22, an anode electrode 23 and a cathode electrode 24. K2S2O8 (potassium peroxodisulphate) is laminated on the anode electrode 23 of the diode 20 and Mg is laminated on the cathode electrode 24. When the semiconductor light emitting device 1 is thrown in a water solution, it chemically reacts to emit an output light from the LED 20 with a voltage of about 2.4 V applied between the anode and cathode electrodes 23, 24. |
