PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure device for a copying machine, which is simply constituted and made smaller than a conventional exposure device for a copying machine in size. SOLUTION: As for the copying machine provided with a light source installed in the machine main body, a photoreceptor and a projecting lens for exposing the photoreceptor with the light reflected by a sheet after emitted from the light source, a prescribed copying magnification is obtained by moving the projecting lens in a scanning direction in accordance with the copying magnification and moving a mirror between the projecting lens and the photoreceptor so as to change the whole optical path length, the exposure device is provided with a zoom mirror mount and a member for correcting a light quantity at the time of magnifying, the zoom mirror mount is constituted of two mirrors which are made movable so as to change the whole optical length between the projecting lens and the photoreceptor and which have a relative angle of 90 deg., and then, the photoreceptor is uniformly exposed at the relative position of the projecting lens and the zoom mirror mount in accordance with the required magnification.
