PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substance for activating a negative electrode for a secondary battery which is characterized in a large capacity, superior charging/ discharging efficiency, a high current density, and a long service life. SOLUTION: A substance for activating a negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery comprises a core which contains crystal carbon and a carbon shell which is formed on the core, where the carbon shell has a graphite catalyst effect and contains elements that can change quality of a peripheral carbon structure or contains a compound in which two or more different elements are coupled, while the carbon shell is a quasi-crystal carbon shell with a turbo- stratic-like-structure or a semi-onion ring structure. |
