<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the opening rate of a liquid crystal panel by increasing the flatness rate in the cross section of the wiring part. SOLUTION: The flatness rate in the cross section of at least one kind of wiring 22, 23 which is formed on one substrate 18 to send signals of the same kind is specified to 0.1 as the lower limit and to 10 as the upper limit. The cross-sectional form of the wiring 22, 23 may be an almost triangle or square. By increasing the flatness rate than that of a conventional device, the apparent wiring width in the front view of the panel can be decreased and the opening rate can be improved. Or, instead of specifying all wiring but by forming at least one kind of wiring (for example, only a scanning line) with a reduced flatness rate, a higher opening rate can be obtained. Compared to a device having an electrode of a constant width, the region where a vertical electric field is applied on the liquid crystal is decreased while the area of the region where the liquid crystal is horizontally aligned is increased, and this improves the performance of the liquid crystal display device.</p> |
