PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce bend quantity caused by spring back after shaping the shadow mask and prevent deformation of the principal plane of the shadow mask after fixing it with the mask frame. SOLUTION: This color cathode-ray tube is equipped with a tongue portion 26 projecting from the tip of a skirt portion 24 of the shadow mask, and a plurality of holes for absorbing stresses on both skirt portion 24 and tongue portion 26.
