The method involves transferring information between a base station (BS1, BS2) and a mobile station (MS) embedded in a frame structure. The information is compressed and transferred in a certain compressed frame so that a time slice contg. no information is transferred within the frame. The compressed frame information is passed during a soft handover process involving the base and mobile stations, whereby the information in the compressed frame is distributed to several base stations involved in the soft handover process and transferred from these to the mobile station independently.
