A toaster comprising a substantially parallelepipedic and thermally insulati ng box-type structure (1) in addition to at least one electric resistor (6) whi ch is used as a radiating heating element and which is included in said box. Th e side walls (3, 4) of the box (1) are transparent. The invention makes it possible to visually monitor bread during toasting.
