PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body of a reel having bearings on the both sides, formed into a round low profile-shape and made in such a manner that a fishing line is hardly entangled around a lower frame. SOLUTION: This body of the reel having bearings on the both sides has a reel frame 5, wherein the reel frame is equipped with a first side plate 8 and a second side plate 9 arranged in opposite positions at a predetermined interval, and further with a thumb rest 10 combined with each of the tops of the first side plate 8 and the second side plate 9 to form a unit. The first side plate 8, the second side plate 9, and the thumb rest 10 are together cast as one body by die casting aluminum alloy. The lower frame 11 is attached to each of the bottoms of the first side plate 8 and the second side plate 9 with screws to be freely separated, wherein the lower frame is molded by casting together with a reel foot 11a as one body, and the foot is used to be attached to a fishing pole.
