PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an umbrella stand which can secure a living space efficiently by minimizing the volume on use and which can be thin when not in use without doing a folding operation and is easy to handle. SOLUTION: This umbrella stand 1 consists of a base plate 2 which can be installed on a wall face W, a trough member 3 provided in a lower part of the surface of the base plate 2, an umbrella presser plate 4 which can be laid over a part of the surface of the base plate 2 above the trough member 3, and a link mechanism 5 which links the umbrella presser plate 4 and the base plate 2 so that the umbrella presser plate 4 may be moved upward as it goes away from the base plate 2.
