PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compliance alarm circuit for evaluating the connection between a patient monitor and a patient. SOLUTION: A compliance monitoring circuit 26 generates a constant current output for an insulating transformer T1 of a patient monitoring device 10. The output voltages of constant current generators Q1 and A1 change due to a change of impedance of the connection to the patient. This voltage is measured and checked against a reference value. Thus, a visible or audible compliance alarm can be generated.
