PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide with minimum and simple constitution detection of a residual amount of a sheet and existence of the sheet inside a sheet feeding cassette for a copying machine or the like and existence of the sheet cassette. SOLUTION: When there is a sheet 1 in a sheet feeding cassette 3, an actuator 8 is supported on an upper face of the sheet and a photosensor 6 is not shielded, and when there is no sheet, the actuator 8 is not supported due to a notch of a bottom plate 5 and the photosensor 6 is shielded. Residual sheet amount detection is constituted by an actuator 7 and a photosensor 9. Existence detection of the sheet feeding cassette itself is constituted by the actuator 8 and photosensor 6, and the actuator 7 and photosensor 9.
